چکیده

Liquid-liquid equilibrium data were measured and analyzed for two ternary systems (biodiesel + methanol glycerol methyl palmitate glycerol). Biodiesel, produced by the conventional chemical route at 60 °C min, using soybean oil a molar rate of 10:1 potassium hydroxide concentration (KOH) 1 wt% exhibited thermal decomposition temperatures between 100 250 ºC, reaching mass loss approximately 98.8%, confirming conversion into biodiesel gas chromatography thermogravimetry. Tie line composition quality was verified Othmer-Tobias Hand correlation equations. The distribution selectivity coefficients calculated immiscibility regions. experimental tie good in UNIQUAC NRTL thermodynamic models. system displayed deviations 0.66 0.53% models, respectively. In addition, showed 1.23 0.48% deviation model, individual behavior main esters , based on model parameters, demonstrated that type fatty acid does not interfere correlation, likely due to similarity their properties.

Liquid-Liquid Equilibrium for the Ternary Systems of Solvent+ m/o/p-Cresol+Water: Thermodynamic Modeling

In this study, NRTL and UNIQUAC thermodynamic models were used to predict the composition of ternary mixtures of solvents+ m/o/p-cresol+ water in organic and aqueous phases. Various solvents are used for the separation of cresols from water. In this study, methyl propyl ketone, methyl isopropyl ketone, methyl butyl ketone, and methyl isobutyl ketone solvents were investigated. Intermolecular in...

Modeling Liquid-Liquid Equilibrium of Ionic Liquid Systems with NRTL, Electrolyte-NRTL, and UNIQUAC

Characterization of liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) in system containing ionic liquids (ILs) is important in evaluating ILs as candidates for replacing traditional extraction and separation solvents. Though an increasing amount of experimental LLE data is becoming available, comprehensive coverage of ternary liquid-phase behavior via experimental observation is impossible. Therefore, it is impo...

Dissolution of a liquid microdroplet in a nonideal liquid-liquid mixture far from thermodynamic equilibrium.

A droplet placed in a liquid-liquid solution is expected to grow, or shrink, in time as approximately t;{1/2}. In this Letter, we report experimental evidence that when the composition in the interface is far from thermodynamic equilibrium due to the nonideality of the mixture, a droplet shrinks as approximately t. This scaling is due to the coupling between mass and momentum transfer known as ...

Thermodynamic Relations for Testing Consistency of Ternary Vapor-liquid Equilibrium Data*

Vapor-liquid equilibrium relationships are important properties for practical use, such as in the design and operation of distillation equipment. In general, vapor-liquid equilibrium relations are determined experimentally, and it is a custom to test the thermodynamic consistency of the equilibrium data. Investigators1^4-15'17'19~22-24) have proposed various methods for testing thermodynamic co...

Effect of Magnetic Field on the Liquid-liquid Equilibria of (Water + Acetic Acid + Organic Solvent) Ternary Systems

The effect of magnetic field on the liquid-liquid equilibrium of two ternary systems (water + acetic acid + butyl acetate and water + acetic acid + dimethyl succinate) at 298.15 K under atmospheric pressure was investigated. The results obtained show that the strength of the magnetic field (0.02 T) affects the solubility of acetic acid in the used organic solvents. Distribution coefficients and...
